The UTA Mission
When the United Truckers Association was founded in 1995, our goal was to:
1. Develop programs and benefits for independent contractors and owner operators that would allow them to take advantage of large numbers as if they were part of a large corporation, and have available the benefits that are available to large corporations at the cost that large numbers allow. And,
2. Develop for the motor carrier:
a) Products that allow the carrier to keep Independent Contractors, Owner Operators, and Contract Drivers at a business' arm's length distance that is required by the IRS.
b.) Relieve the carrier from the responsibility of providing workers' compensation to the independent contractor, owner operator, and
c.) Provide appropriate protection in the event the independent contractor, owner operator, or contract driver tries to be deemed as an employee of the motor carrier.
With our continued growth, the United Truckers Association services members from
four offices: our main office and our administrative office in Harlingen, Texas and our underwriting office in Gouldbusk, Texas
and our marketing offices in Plymouth
Meeting, PA and Little Rock, AR. Today, our offices support a growing staff and ever-increasing nationwide representation that service our thousands of members utilizing our wide variety of benefit programs.
